Obika Kazumi
Born in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture.
After graduating from a local junior college, she gathered experience at several design companies before becoming independent in 2006. She held a solo exhibition at HB Gallery in Omotesando, Tokyo.
She tirelessly promotes her work in her native Kagawa, including exhibiting her work at Design Laboratory Ao. She is also developing works outside of her usual paper medium, such as her collaboration with the artisans behind Sanukimono Uchiwa (traditional Japanese fans), and Obitenu, who make traditional chusen-dyed tenugui hand towels (using traditional Japanese cloth).
In February of 2021, she released a book of illustrations, ""JPN Nippon Ezu"" (published by Kodansha), with friends living in Shikoku. It is gradually gaining acclaim.
