伝統工芸士 兵頭 恵子さんのつくる丸亀うちわ。

kitahama blue stories とのコラボしたうちわを作って頂きました！

コンパクトなデザインはカバンに入れて持ち運びやすく

さっと取り出して使える優れもの。

インテリアとして部屋に飾っておくのもいいですね○

「伊予竹に土佐貼りてあわ(阿波)ぐれば

讃岐うちわで至極(四国)涼しい」と歌い継がれる丸亀。

慶長5年(1600年)、丸亀の旅僧が九州で一宿のお礼に

うちわの製法を伝授したのが始まりだそう。

丸亀うちわ作りは県内産の真竹を採って、

一定の幅に割るところから始まり

全47もの製造工程を経て丸亀うちわが完成します。

伝統の良さを伝えながら、現代らしさを表現しながら

制作を続けられています。

Marugame uchiwa fans made by Keiko Hyodo,

a traditional craftsperson.

She has made uchiwa fans in collaboration with Kitahama Blue Stories!
Their compact design makes them easy to carry in a bag, great for whipping out and using it when you need to.They also make great interior decorative pieces.○Marugame has been passed down over the centuries, "If you fix Tosa paper to Iyo bamboo and flutter it, Shikoku is quite cool with a Sanuki uchiwa fan".

It is said that the craft originates in Keicho 5 (1600), when a Marugame travelling priest taught locals how to make uchiwa fans as a token of his gratitude.To make a Marugame uchiwa fan, first local bamboo is divided into pieces of a certain width, and then completed with a further 47 steps.Uchiwa fans are still being produced, conveying the strengths of tradition while having a modern feel.
