国産の麦わら帽子を作っている数少ない工場のひとつが香川県観音寺にある丸高製帽所。

今では布や紙製の麦わらが主流になってますが、

それでも国産の麦わら帽子には強いこだわりを持っています。

日差しをさえぎり涼しい天然の麦と、伸縮性があり、心地良くかぶれる職人の技。

職人さんが縫い上げた麦わらを型に入れてプレスして仕上げる昔ながらの製法です。

創業当初に使用してた麦わら帽子の金型を呼び起こし、現代版として復刻したカタチに

blue storiesらしく海辺に似合う愛らしくて上品な印象になるように仕上げました。

天然の麦わらの快適さと麦の香り、使う毎に自分の頭の形に馴染み、濃く変化していく色。

自分の帽子へと変化していくのも天然の麦わら帽子の特徴です。

瀬戸内の日差しが優しく心地良くありますように…

そんな想いが詰まった夏のお帽子です。

Long strands of straw, carefully sewn into the shape of a hat, guided by the artistic vision and experience of the craftsman...Marutaka Seibosho in Kannonji, Kagawa Prefecture is one of the few millinaries producing straw hats in Japan.

Nowadays, straw hats are usually made from paper or cloth, but Marutaka Seibosho is dedicated to the making of domestic straw hats. Natural wheat is cool and effective for blocking out the sun, with a comfortable and flexible finish.

Marutaka Seibosho's hats are made using the traditional method in which the braided straw is sewn into shape, then pressed into a mold by the craftsman. The rustic smell and comfort of natural straw... a hat that adapts to the shape of your head and becomes more and a more "yours" with each wear... the rich color that deepens with time...
